ProJumps
Manufactured in China - Parts from here too
Mass produced under various names (PoweriZer, FlyJumper, ProJump, etc)
Lower quality because of cheaper parts (Hence why hoofs wear down fast, and othe similar problems)
Use Bushings on all moving parts
Are generally Black/Blue/Orange in colour, with circular holes in frame
Produced by a company called "FlyingLocust"

7League Boots
Manufactured in Austria - Parts from China and Africa
Higher Quality materials used (In springs, Hoofs and Frames)
Only Produced as 7Meilensteifel Pro, no multi-branding
Use Bearings instead of bushings on all moving parts
Distinctive Yellow Colour, with Square/Diamond shaped holes in frame
Produced by a company called "FutureTech"

And that's just a quick overview of differences.

Sprog

For once I have to disagree with one of your points

You say 7's use bearings and PJ's use bushes

In engineering there is very little diference between the two the real difference is that 7's bearings are made of metal (phospher bronze I hope) like the G1 PJ's were

G2 PJ's bushes/bearings are made of a graphite impregnated plastic (don't use copper gease on them it makes them wear quicker)

And to most people the main difference is price If you are comparing like for like you expect to get the same quality but spending £105 more is always going to get you more for your money

I stick with my view that if you are starting out in bocking and are willing to fit socks and play with them a bit the PJ's are good value at the price they are sold at

Aha, thanks for that Jason, I didn't realise there was such a little difference between the two. I can now add that to my list of stuff about bocks ;D

No probs Sprog you have kept me well informed about bocks for a long time now

I learnt some thing that might interest you when I did the replacement bearings on mine I thought about using needle roller bearings and the guy who runs the engineering course told me that unless they are pre-loaded they will wear out quicker than the plain phosy bronze bearings that I used in the end

when you think about it it makes sence because of the smaller rollers punching into the case

But I'm English and you know we English always wear our socks ( even in bed ) so my hoof will last for ever  ;) ;D

And I actually get pleasure out of fittin socks to my PJ's  :-[ (strange I know but true )

adzi  --dont be too impressed with sprog  ( please just dont),  there is a guy in americia that knows just as much ;D

Jason,  I think you are spot on re price. At £105 more 7's do and should last longer than PJ's. Performance is I think pretty much the same. Tho I am typing with a bruised and bloody finger as a result of uncompleted repair work on my 6-7 week old 7's hehe d'oh.

But things are ment to last   and to wareout. Many peeps get bored and want somat knew for no good reason. I'd like hooves to last longer than they do ( but hey tyre sox or trainers are not too much to cope with). Springs ( if 1 gets the right model) 300 hours of use seems reasonable time for them to last to me ( inc pads that works out I think at less than 50 p an hour).

After 300-500 hours or even long before, peeps will be looking for something else. Just cos they do.

Weird! It looks like I just took a random picture of my dog and posted it up :D ::) :P
Hmm.. Why didn't it just make the picture smaller. :(
Anyway!Here's the link:

It's not even a very interesting or revelant picture.

The dog?
Nah, he's just  really hot. He has too much fur :)
He looks more normal here http://s179.photobucket.com/albums/w298/OzeFroze/?action=view&current=STA71126.jpg

Dusty if you find the backs of your legs 'painfully' hitting the back post. Pop along to a £ shop and buy a pair of cheapo think flip flops, cut the straps off then glue to the footplate --will raise you a lil. If you lowered the knee bar that much -then it prob will be needed

Thanks, but that hasn't really happen to me yet. I can still lower the kneebar a little too only I can't be bothered to do it cos it takes ages. The problem I have is that my legs move around loads in the kneebar. I don't have knee pads yet(shock, horror!) because my old ones are broken and my new ones haven't arrived yet. but I 'm hoping that pades will solve this problem
If I do find my legs hitting against the back post I will follow your advice. My legs are very skinny so maybe that's why this isn't happening to me(which I am thankful for :D)

Yeah, I'm back

That's a good idea. It might be expensive replacing the blood-soaked sponges all the time though. lol :D :D :D

pop along to a plumbing supply shop and buy some insulating foam tubing --put on the loop and tape in place. the 7's do have just about the biggest diameter loop on the market. Also get some webbing or pinhead straps to hold you inplace  I think they just show up what I mean in the pix
