Where abouts are you from.
Most people find something else to put over the springs. There is no escaping the scratches and rips on the original covering.
If you're not all that creative then just go with some electrical tape, hockey stick tape, or even gaffer tape.
It doesn't really matter what you use and it seems to be a good way to add a little flare to the stilts to make them different to everyone elses
