Safety gear is cool
« on: July 01, 2007, 09:17:10 AM »
Remember the best ' Safe Practice' is all ways wear safety gear.  :)
No one plan to fall over but it does happen.  :P
Safety gear is cool, more cooler the a plastic cast around a broken wrist:o
When your bocking in public wear some and show that it's cool, and it's not big a clever not the wear any !  8)

One very important piont is does it fit you !
There's on piont wearing pads too big or small you could end up worst off.
I just brought some love knee/shin pads off EBAY and there too small for me  :(
You may not be able to try before you buy but ask others your size what works for them ask on here !?  :)
These are what I got but I'm so big they don't fit very well may MOD them or may sell them  :-\

I've been think of a great poster to promote safety gear.
It's a picture of two boys ( could be girls ) both hold their wrists, ones got a scuff on his wrist guard the others got a plaster cast on, the caption reads
Now who looks cool ?

i wear knee pads but thats partly because it helps pad my knee in more, so safety gear can be used not only as a safety aspect but also as a way of bein more secure on your bocks am ordering some wrist gaurds soon

im totaly down with safty gear, but lets face it living dangerusly is fun and chicks dig scars!!

but if it helps all i was watching a vid once were some kid took a tumble on some blades and bumped the old noggin and knocked himself out.. didnt look to major a fall... but there was blood poring out his head, the 'friend' with the vid cam lifted his head off the floor laffing his mate was unconcious...

the vid was removed due to, two hours after the fall the kid died... scary crap that you trip get knocked out and all your suppose friend is laffing just filming you die...

oh and the one story that honestly scared the crap out of me... a friend of an ex was telling me how when he was younger some mates were messing around and did a 'pig pile' on him, he broke his kneck but no one new and just thought he was a wuss for crying in the corner (he was at scouts at the time) once found out and in hospital they gave him anistetic to knock him out... but all it did was paralize him, he could feel everything but couldnt do anything about it. dolts drilled in his scull, opened up and spine pinned...

not fun...

stay safe people..
the day after tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life... that way you always have a day in hand

I was racing some lads running for fun and I've just fallen for the first time ( hopefully the last ). I was wear knee, eblow and wrist guards apart from a bash on the chest and what I hope is just bang to my palm I fine  :-\

Three day with my new pads and I fall over when running, put my palms ( wrist guards ) upto my head and let the elbow pads take the impact, the knee found their own landing !? My shoulder aches and I've got a cut on my chest but I got up from it. People laught a bit, but would they think it funny if I'd broken an arm ? Thing was I'd just told a lad and his dad who was thinking of getting some always wear pads !

Glad to hear you like it :)
We have had some good feedback on these jackets. Remember you can use the back protectoron its own too.
