Travelling
« on: July 16, 2012, 04:52:51 AM »
Missing my projumps just a little bit, even having bocking dreams so I've been wondering if I should wait until I get back to the UK and bring my trusty bocks back or buy a new pair over here (Australia) but there doesn't seem to be many outlets for replacement hooves and such.

Does the cut up bike tyre held in place with cable ties work well as I think it's gonna be my only sustainable option out here.

PIt should work fine for a temp solution.. It may be an idea to screw some kind of packing material between the tyre and the stilt metal to reduce the impact on the frame..
Also, use a jubilee clip instead of a cable tie..

Hope this helps..
Maybe get to meet you in acouple of years when I move out to oz..

The cut up bike tyre can last you months if the tyre is a relatively new off-road one (all depends on your stilting technique). But muncher, I think you have the wrong idea here, you place the tyre over the hoofs already on the stilts before you wear the hoofs down too much, that way there is already the padding you talked about
