Basingstoke Newbie
« on: June 14, 2012, 08:04:12 PM »
Hi all,

Just got my stilts a few days ago and have thus far only managed to toddle about and fall over. Will be getting out on them more when the weather improves and have already arranged to meet up with Jason and a few of his friends (many thanks to Jason).

I'm based in Basingstoke so if anyone is nearby and wants to meet up I'm more than happy to and have a few large car parks to practice in where we won't be bothered.

I'm about as new as you can get to bocking so I don't have any videos/pics, but I have one of my other hobby.

I'm the one on the blue bike. http://vimeo.com/39942005

Cheers people! Hope to see some of you soon!

HOW MUCH are them tyres!
and Which one of the blue bikes is the BLUE bike????

Growing OLD is compulsory. Growing UP is optional. OPT OUT!

Thanks dude :) Tyres are free as we take the naff ones from local tyre shops. Saves them money on disposing of them and saves us buying ones!

Haha I did think that after posting! I'm the one on the entirely blue bike. The blue/yellow/green bike is my mate's.

Ello, I'm a Basingstoke bocker too.

I haven't organized a meet in Basing in while on accord of the weather being so rubbish and college work overload.
When the weather picks up (fingers crossed) i'll start sorting out some meets in Eastrop park.

Its usually a good day and the Ban Bockers often come make appearance  :Csmile:

Actually, the BB's always make an appearance...cos  I do believe Jason made me a member  :CGEEK:

Happy Bocking

Katy

Ah eastrop park, where there's as much chance of falling on a broken bottle or used heroin needle as there is grass :P

If you ever want to meet up let me know. I've got a few good places to practice. Trying to get some of my mates into blocking but they're having none of it ATM!

We never had any issues with bocking in the park but if you bock spots are better we're give it a go.

Public apology to the new guy

I have got to say sorry to David as we missed him at the staines meet

I forgot to give him a number to contact me and as he was a bit late we had just moved to the river so the poor bloke had a wasted journey

I have only one excuse that is being old and forgetful

So sorry again David and hope to see you at a future meet

Gizmo: I was just joking, its probably quite a nice place to bock when the weather's nice. Be happy to meet with you guys if you're ever there.

Jason: I've got a small stream in my back garden but none in any of the practice spots I have access to unfortunately!

As for the missed meeting, it has to be said in Jason's defence that I was an hour and a half late and didn't ask for any contact details so I'm taking the blame on this one. I'm sure there will be many more meets :)

Hi Guys,

I've been promissing to organise a Newbury meet (not far from Basingstoke) for a while now, so here goes:

I'm currently considering Victoria Park in Newbury on Saturday 21st July - kick off at 12 noon.

There's a skate/bmx park there - where we can wind up the users.  There's a fair amount of tarmacked paths we can bounce around on (if grass is not your thing) and it's not far into the town centre if we fancy a bocking expedition - there's even a new shopping centre we can try getting banned from

There is plenty of parking in the area - RG14 5AU is close by - just head over the Wharf Road Bridge into Victoria Park - suggest we meet up at the big round pond.

I'm having a BBQ at my place (north Newbury) from 3pm onwards, everybody is invited, plus my back garden is big enough for bocking.

Bring your own meat or veggie alternative to throw on the BBQ.

If you fancy blowing up a water melon, bring one with you - I'll provide the explosives!

Been sowing watermelon seeds like this at the end of my garden for years, but none of them have grown - I can't think why!

The party will continue into the evening, with the launching of moon lanterns and probably a firework or two.

PM me if you want to attend either or both the bocking and/or BBQ and I'll let you have my mobile number and address if you want to party.

Steve
If it goes BANG! I'll do it.
