safety helmet advice

hey guys need some advice on what sorta headgear i should be looking at i heard somewhere (probably on this forum) that skate or snowboard helmets are quite good?? i know big fat bike helmets will make me look like a right turd and i dont wanna

Skate helmets are the best to go for, they are comfortable and cover the back of your head too. They are also designed to take multiple impacts.

Bicycle helmets are not good, they are designed to break after 1 impact and do not cover the back of you head.

Sprog said up there that skate helmats can be used for multiple impacts, but if you have a extreme fall on your helmet its best to buy a new one after. Well thas what the guy at the shop told me dunno if it was just a sneaky way to make people buy stuff...

I peffer snowboarding helemts over skate helmets, broke a skate helmet on one impact!!! Use a horse ridding helmet, they do quite well!!

I don't use it much as it is very warm but on cold days like it was in Weymouth it is a life saver.

I wear a skate helmet. They look cool and are hard wearing. Bike helmets look silly and break easy.

i'm probably going to get a skate helmet. 1/ because i'm not planning on doing anything extreme and 2/ they look so damn cool. aswell as this i'm getting the elbow and knee pads and wrist gaurd from pro jump. my friend is buying his pj's at the same time as me and he is only getting a helmet i can't sway him to buy the other safety stuff. anyway do you guys think i'm doing the right thing or should i buy different things?

Well maybe you should show the pics of Jason's wrist to your friend.....just a thought. If he should break anything like his wrists or knee caps. Please post pics, I love looking at pics of people to stupid to think that safety gear wasn't something they should wear, that then break bones

I've been think of a great poster to promote safety gear.
