Rocket Boots
« on: April 10, 2011, 01:10:13 AM »
Going through bocking videos on YouTube i came across very interesting Russian invention called rocket boots. Since I'm kind of geek i found it rly interesting and i thought i will share it with You guys. Well basically it hasn't got  much to do with rockets its more like combustion engine strapped to the legs much like stilts are but instead of reusing energy generate by human muscle it produce energy from burning diesel fuel. Idea has been there for over 40 years but it never got off the drawing board until recently some university decide to resurrect it. Here are some links where you can find more info about those boots.

tbh, they look cool and the are technologicly amazing but i bet i could get more speed on my exos.. As for them saying the could be used for armed forces, they sound like firework going off when they fire so unless its the battle of the deaf..

Yes they meant to be for army but not to use in the battle but instead to use during training. Don't ask me how would it help. And unfortunately You cant buy them any more :Cno: coz the company went out of business in 2006.

Might be a fun one to try though

Wow cool idea but completely impractical. After all by the looks of it bocks give you more speed and no need for any fuel ( yes I know Paul-self is run on red bull ) .

Also I wonder if you can control the Power that goes in to them ie is it easy to go from a walk to a run with out having to flick or push any buttons. (I'm looking in to this to much hu?)

The idea behind them is simple really

Air+Fuel+Spark = Expanding gases (no spark needed with diesel before someone points this out  :Claugh: )

So as far as amount of power you would get it depends on how much Air +Fuel you put in

Main problem I can see is over fueling to the point that you can't stop bouncing  :Claugh:

Would it maybe be possible make shock absorbers built into metal pipes?, so that you still can jump and still will get abit high like the:  :PJL: :PJR:?

The pipes would make the shock absorbers to be straight, maybe 2x shocks per stilt, so that you got one on left and one on right side between underside of your foot :Cnah:.

Maybe they also would be working with the oil like a front bike shock absorber and with the function of choosing hard or soft, hard if you just wanna jump down or up and soft when going to run with?

Maybe another idea for the future  :Cerr:

There are a set of stilts that work on that basis mate

Look like a long pole under the foot and are either hydraulic or pnumatic
