Power Sliding

Did a classic today

I regularly bock around The Aldwich in London at lunchtime and did so today

To set the scene I was crossing the road right outside the Australian embasy and it is a busy 3 lane road right by several coffee shops and restaurants

The Law courts are just up the road so Rumpole and all his cohorts as well as Skippy and Crock Dundee are all out getting lunch and liquid refreshment

Basicaly the spot is really busy at lunchtime

The islands in the road are large (300sq ft or so) and covered in flat square cobbles (closest thing to a giant cheese grater)

So I ran across the road when the lights changed and as I reached the island tripped up the curb resulting in a beautiful swan dive and ending with me sliding along the cobbles on my elbows and knees  :Claugh:

Took me about 16ft to stop and I'm still not sure how much of that was flight and how much sliding but it felt like I slid the whole way

And remember all this in a crowd in London  :Claugh:

One nice lady offered assistance but I assured her that it was just an occupational hazzard (If you a loony  :Claugh:)

I was up and jogging within about 15 seconds (due to embaressment  )

It was then I noticed the guy sitting on the barrier literally crying with laughter (said it was the best laugh he'd had all year)

I will post pics of my knees when the bruises come out but there was some blood but not much (and I can still walk  )

I just hope someone caught it on film and I'll be searching U-tube for a week just in case

Jason  :Hoofies2: :CGEEK:

Ps Thank God for kneepads, elbow pads and Wristies  :Claugh:

Made me think though

I have never met an Aussie Bocker (Is there one)

I mean I know of German, Swedish, American, and loads of others

Aussies are ment to be mad so why no Bockerdile Dundee  :Claugh:

I mean we even sent an Ambassador to their neighbours (ET / Newzealand) and still no stiring

The bruises didn't show up on the pics very well so not worth posting

But every one at work said I had knees like a 6 yr old  :Claugh:

Glad to help Naz I'll try to fall over more often  :Claugh:
