CHILDREN in NEED PORSTMOUTH 14TH Nov
« on: October 16, 2009, 05:11:08 PM »
Hi, Ive made mention of this places on this forum. But I think I can now start a proper thread.  1st off Ill give you all the press release that is going out.

'''Powerball Exhibition Match Portsmouth in Aid of BBC Children in Need 2009'''

14th November 2009 - 2:00pm

The  Jurassic Jumpers will be hosting a Jumping stilts event at St Luke's Community Sports Centre (Address Below) as part of our effort to raise money for BBC Children in Need 2009. Press and spectators are welcome to view this amazing spectacle.

We will be staging a match of fast paced Powerball, an extreme version of basketball played entirely on spring-loaded stilts. Bockers will be available for interviews and talks to the general public after the match, and of course we will be collecting money for BBC Children in Need 2009

We will also be hosting a demonstration by the Pro Jump 101 Extreme Display Team, as seen on TV!

Who are the Jurassic Jumpers?

Named after the Jurassic Coast, probably the most prominent feature of their area, The Jurassic Jumpers were formed in January 2007 as a local group for bockers around Dorset to meet up and bounce around, and have gone on to expand into Devon, Wiltshire and Hampshire. Originally starting with only 5 members, the Jurassic Jumpers have since grown to over 20 active members, producing a wide-ranging level of skill and ability, proving anyone and everyone can bock.

Bockers are users of spring-loaded stilts, commonly called "PowerBocks" or "Bocks", named after the first commercially available versions, PowerSkips, and their inventor, Alexander Boeck. The stilts allow the user to jump up to heights of 6ft and run at speeds of over 20mph.

Be sure to visit the website at www.jurassicjumpers.co.uk

St Luke's Community Sports Centre can be found at the following address:
Greetham Street
Southsea
Portsmouth
PO5 4ML

All press inquiries can be directed to Robert Cowie, Tel 07852 714 767, email robertcow@gmail.com

www.jurassicjumpers.co.uk

If you check on the JJ site, you will see that we are still manically running around. But its mainly with ideas and things to do and not panic ( yet).

This is very much a JJ meet but with fundraising added on to make things easier to get off the ground.

So , please give money   And please please consider comming along. I 'think' ive got enough competitors  but Id love to have more just for my peace of mind. But even if not competing it will be a great day out  and the 101 boys are always worth watching.

If i can master the technology..... oo un best post to Dave too. So he can work on some 'moves' :Claugh:

I know rest of you peeps not interested, but the story goes.  Some time ago I got 1 of those free music CD's from a newspaper. It was of 'NuBrazilian' music..or somesuch.  Never listened to it and just lobbed it into my car.  On the way to Portsmouth Dave lobbed it in the CD. Well , basically, we reccon tract 4 is possibly the worst song we have ever heard.  Tho Alex was unsure if it actually merited being catagorised as a 'song'.
