NHS are idiots.
« on: October 14, 2009, 11:20:14 AM »
following up from yesterdays topic i posted,

as i said i got a temporary cast cos they said it was broken from the x-ray, thats fair enough, infact i saw it for myself.

now today i went in for the proper cast and a different doctor saw it and was like yeh as u can see its broke here blah blah so it needs to go in cast, straight after he says does it hurt here, here ,here etc and i said no, it only hurts went i bend it and he goes oh well if it doesnt hurt here then it cant be broke ( despite him having the xrays infront of him )

anyways instantly cut off my cast and said its a sprain.

good news : i have no cast so i can bock

bad: im pretty convinced its broke.

i dont understand life

We dont get free health care, we just pay for it in different ways.

And just because its "free" they can still be idiots. Like my doctor telling me my xray was green.

Then something had gone wrong during the developing stage. Or the fixing. I can't remember which.

now today i went in for the proper cast and a different doctor saw it and was like yeh as u can see its broke here blah blah so it needs to go in cast, straight after he says does it hurt here, here ,here etc and i said no, it only hurts went i bend it and he goes oh well if it doesnt hurt here then it cant be broke ( despite him having the xrays infront of him )
Thinking about it, it could just be fractured. Also, in areas like the carpus where there's a load of small bones, it's really hard to spot stuff, so what could have been seen as a "break" is just a film fault or an odd angle on the exposure. But then again, I guess NHS are all spangley fandangley and have digital xrays so can just pump levels around until they get the image they need after the image has been exposed.

un X rays cant tell all.

Or Docs cant navigate with um.

There is 'probably' a shard of glass in my right foot. Cos of a shadow on an X ray. An exploritory operation could not find it.   But the thick deep tight scar tissue  that resulted.means that  when cutting  couple of my toe nails it  is riskilly painfull.

ive got ( so the experts tell moi) an horrific scar on my left eye ball too.  But just not impressive ( tho I was near blinded) . I kinda feel I missed out  not breaking an arm or a leg or done  myself an injury  running with scissors ( indeed is there a recored insident of any1 being injured as a result of of 'running with scissors'?).

But yeah  quibble about diagnosis  not price :Cyes:

As for wot NHS is...go check out the comments and opinions  on Obama's healthcare reforms in the US... he is being called ( in some circles) a Nazi who wants to kill off terminally ill people. The funniest bit tho .... was a suggestion from an americian right wing political commentator ( claiming that US healthcare better than others and in this case UK's) that if Steven Hawkins ( he was at the time about to recieve the Presidential Freedom Medal--big thing btw) had  he lived in England he would have been left to die cos it would be too expensive to care for him.

Now as we know, and Prof Hawkin had to point out, whilst his voice synth has a US accent, he is British and for the last 40 years has been recieving very very expensive medical treatment from the 'socialist NHS' and that was only reason he was still alive.

Locky  u right medical treatment isnt free in this country,  but its 'virtually' free if we dont notice we paying for it.  Its like all them direct debits we dont notice.

If every1  did their best  and sorted out their best deal for mobile phone. broadband, car, house insurance   etc etc  then went on un  took an interest in the rest of world around,  then life would be cheaper, not free, but cheaper. But we DONT.
Un go ask your MP if the NHS should be 'national'  indeed is it? Would we better served if it was split , on a regional or age or gender or on medical condition lines?  ooo that more than enuff :CSLEEP:

I broke my right scaphoid not long ago (spelling? and its a bone in the wrist) the x-ray could not confirm if it was broken or not, after 2 months in plaster and inconclusive repeated x-rays they decided to MRI me. The scan results showed that there was no break but there was fragments of bone where I had *almost* shattered my wrist and that the 3 months in total I spent in plaster was just enough for those fragments to resettle and heal into where they were meant to be.

I was lucky they were thorough because those fragments apparently would have given me a painful and weak wrist for life and an extensive Op to remove them.

Got bocks, backfleep or broken face sometime in the future.....

Must admit my wrist was easy to spot  :Claugh:

Best bit was when I pointed at a bit on the X-ray and asked what it was and the Doc said she didn't know (this was repeated a few times)
Must admit it gave me a good laugh watching three Docs looking at my X-ray and all together leaning their heads to one side then the other looking at each other and shruging then shaking their heads  :Claugh:

The Guy that put it all back together was really good but even he reconed there were a few bits left over that didn't fit anywhere  :Claugh:

Still it works now and shattered was the best word for it (wish I had the original X-ray)
