After half a year of waiting
« on: September 30, 2009, 02:17:39 PM »
I BROKE MY BAN!!!

so some of you may remember my old thread about my parents banning me from bocking

and I was good I listened and waited over 6 months! till I had finished college, gone to africa etc

now I am working, about to get my provis driving licence to start learning and most importantly

THE PARENTS ARE AWAY!!!

as the saying goes while the cats away the mice will play so I got my self a debit card and five minutes ago I ordered my stilts YAY!!!

and with my day off tomorrow I felt there was not a better time  :Cwink:

NOW any ideas how to let the parents know  :Cerr:

if in about a week you never hear from me again then you know they kicked me out but hey in the mean time I will have FUN!

:D welcome back, just get good enough to not break anything by the time they return...or move out, probably about the same difficulty as convincing parents to see your point of view  :Claugh:

UPDATE TIME

So far so good they did not throw me out the second they learnt I had them

However neither of them have actually seen my stilts or seen me on them  :Cwideeyed: so there still time to kick me out

BUT already I have been banned  :Cswoon:

Thankfully not from using them but from wearing them for the halloween party I had planned going to
because its inside so an enclosed space  :Cerr: (gym meet???)
and because people dont know how to behave around them  :Ceek: (so what about the hundreds of people I meet on the streets)

I predict a riot! or at any rate more bans in the future till probably I cant go out on them :Cmad:

Predicted future bans:
Bocking at home (the lawn does not take well to being bocked on I discovered  :Cconfused:)

Now only time will tell...

Nice one! They have a point about inside around crouds. Its not ideal. No space to
move and if you get knocked or something. Its just not the best. Abd stay clear of the grass too. I dont think its worth annoying them
over :D scout the local area and find some good spots ;)

UPDATE

As the saying goes don’t count your chicken before they hatch and today has certainly proved that right

I’m sure you can guess what comes next... yep that’s right

BANNED AGAIN

However the reason this time is much more real

I finally managed to get a physio appointment as for over a year now I have known something has been up with my legs specifically from the knees down as I cant really bend them

Had been putting it off as I had to go private which cost me a full day’s wages

And the verdict is far from good I was right about my shortened achilles tendon however I have found out today that I also have completely cramped up my calf muscle, destabilised my ankle muscles/tendons AND messed up my feet
But all this is to such an extreme that the person I saw could only refer me on to someone how was even more specialised for lots of assessments on my gait etc and to warn me that I will probably need splints and other things to sort it out
At the end of the day I also found out I was at risk of rupturing my achilles tendon and so potentially not walking again

All in all and depressing day made worse by when I got home being told by my parents I was banned from using my stilts because of my legs

 :Cno: :Cfrown: :Ccry:

Im really sorry to here about your legs problems and hope the treatment works.

But small lifeline. These stilts (so the gloss stuff tells us) is less tressful on the legs and is good for lowe limb injures. Must b said going back to feet directly after bocks does fell 'heavy'.

So , there is a project for you. Prepair your case well, then talk to your specialist but continuing on these stilts.

You have some serious problems and I really hope they can be solved. But walking, running  and jumping on springloaded and softening stilts may noy have any impact on your condition. I mean you stil have to walk, wot difference does it make if you are doing it on stilts?

I am definatly going to talk to the specialist when I see them about the stilts I had the same thoughts as you

But when I told my parents this they ranted on at me about how they could make it worse even though I pointed out they clamp your lower leg solid and the spring replaces your calf muscle with the hoof replacing the ankle joint and foot therefore how could it make it worse

My dad slightly got it asking is it eaiser to walk on stilts than to walk without and I told him it is
But then of course devils advocate appeared and pointed out I could not walk on them all the time  :Cmad:

All I can do is pray i get this appointment with the specialist soon
