Springs in the back of the leg!
« on: May 05, 2008, 11:41:02 PM »
Hi,

I'm having a wonderful time on my new bocks , however when i walk/jog a bit the springs bang into the back of my legs.  :(
I have tried the flip flop thing and this has stopped the pressure when walking.  :)
But with more effort (on my part) it keeps happening, any ideas as to stop this? I would like to move onto Running without pain!!

Hm, you could try using more flip flops
I've had 3 per stilt before :)  Just make sure they're attached well.
Some people add a bit of padding on the top of the spring too.

You may need to adjust the kneebar; I put it just low enough so I can bend my leg all the way and not hit the bars on the back of my leg.

yeah ive had to pad out the top of my springs to stop my hamstrings being a lovely constant purple.
they still get it but it just dont hurt as much now, but i feel where my kneebars are is perfect with regard to my knees not being banged about and the straps not rubbing as much.

You could always go to B&Q (or other such outlets ;) ) and get one of those things your nan kneels down on when doing the gardening, then just cut that to shape, they're a little thicker than flipflops, and you may be able to get more that one set out of one kneeling pad!
