PJ-Skip Hybrids

As a few of you are aware I collect bits and bobs and make my own bits if I can't get them

Well here is my latest   (No crying now Guys  )

The walking foot bit is machined from solid and U section HE30 alloy (very similar to original but with a few mods to bearing sizes and placement) and has a limited movement to make my damaged foot more comfy

Before anyone asks this is a one off and I won't be making any more as Mr Bock would not find that amusing I have done this set for myself as a customising project and in hours spent making them I would have been cheaper buying a set of Velositys

It rained at lunch time today so I couldn't try them (Like a kid at Christmas you should have seen my face watching the rain on the window at work  )

Jason, just out of interest, under the blue covers, are they metal cuff brackets or normal PJ ones?

They are metal ones but same as the Skip ones but home made (well half are the others are Skip  )

I didn't even contemplate selling, I just want some for me!

Haha think how many people are running around with cuffs and no metal brackets, could make a fortune!

do the skip brakets hold the cuffs well coz i have some i just do know if they would hold

OK Guys form an orderly queue and  no pushing at the back 

I have only been on them twice so far and they havn't moved yet they seem to be a very good way of fixing them

They are a total pain to make as I have to machine them from a rectangular box section and they take ages (if you know anyone that does sheet steel pressing it is easier) also there is the whole Patent bit to concider after all Mr Bock has to put bread on the table

I don't know if they sell spares but I havn't seen anythink the same as the brackets anywhere else so I spose they are made for Skips and not an off the shelf bit ( they look like exhaust clamps but a bit different)

Greg why not post a pic of one if yours are off so people can see them someone might know of a supply

If you're looking for spare metal brackets I know Skatehut might have some, I ordered some on Tuesday for £12 after they found some for me, they just take a long time to anwser the phone

I can honestly say that all of my cuffs are on plastic PJ brackets except this set and I have never found them to move

The only reason I went with these was that I weighed the Skip style ones and they were about 20 grams lighter and I was trying to make them as light as I could

I was more looking for somethink like an exhaust or TV pole bracket that looks the same and might do as a substitute if Mr Bock won't sell them seperately

I must admit I was planning on getting the pro jump plastic brackets but i thought i'd wait to see if i could find some metal ones somewhere without buying a whole new stilts or calff cuff set. Plus some how the metal ones were cheaper than the plastic ones by £1

I managed to get 30 mins on them this morning and I managed to jump onto a jumbo bale of hay (I have been trying to get the guts for 2 years)

I don't know if it's because I have a set of old soft springs on them but it was so easy I did it 5 more times (and pulled my back  )

So I like them too

i like them but now i wouldnt want it done to mine because i dont like the bindngs any more.. i find it a lot more comfy to just bolt a good pair of trainers on like they where intended.. still dorsnt stop me wanted to try them out though hehe

I must admit I find some bindings a bit uncomfortable and my favorites are the old PJ ones (just seem to fit me)

But I have made these ones very soft and they don't seem to pinch anywhere

And I don't like carrying a spare set of shoes in case a spring breaks
