That sounds incredible! But very expensive! What do you get for the money? Does the ticket just get you in, or does it include trying all these sports on provided equipment?
Everyone's dreams sit aloft a rungless ladder. Some ladders are higher than others. Some are so tall they reach high above the clouds - but everyone can see their dream. Most people see that their ladder has no rungs and although they may talk about climbing it one day, seeing no way to get there, they eventually give up and settle for what lies beneath it.
The brave however, the wise, the imaginative and the strong of will seek out their missing rungs. They learn all they can about the ladder, they surround themselves with friends and family who would also find the rungs, and failing all else they craft the steps themselves with their own two hands from nothing. Sometimes a rung breaks and the person falls. Some of these people will fall too hard and lose the strength to climb again - Yet they feel comfort in knowing they tried. They became better for it. And they experienced things and witnessed sights upon the climb that those who sat forever beneath it will never know.
Then there are the special few who find new steps, or fix and climb again the ones that failed. Who eventually, through sheer tenacity and courage come to reach the final rung - Only they will have their dreams fulfilled. The extraordinary then build new ladders. These are the strongest people of all.

mm mixed feelings here, as i nearly went 2 last years event on i of wight but didnt.  £55 ? Well think of the cost of a music festival. Id say its reasonable.

Just wanna see what type of place  they have in mindfor bockers ( 7's had a display team at last years event).

I think we would want some horizontal un stepped drops in the sk8 area.

And need to know if covered to bock in the city.

I checked it out as a possible CB venue, but fell cos of insurance cost.

The 'levels' park and sk8 park would be good for us.

If u think £10 min for camping, £5 insurance  and Ill stick next out and say parking too ( if not , Ill stick next again and say camping is at venue  so cars may be parked up a lil way out for free--black rock end of brighton is my tip) that could be £6-10 a day  or £12-20 then cost is £20-40 for the rest, wot would gig tickets cost ( assuming u like the bands).

Tho its how much of stuff can 1 get to do as u say Brendan.  Kayaking on brighton beach ( unless there is a swell going --even then the surf would be rubbish on its stony beach) would b stricktly for the beginners. I suspect 'mountain boards' also will be difficult to demonstrate to their full potential in brighton --well OK on the zigzags to the east, but that is a major gay cruising area -so could lead to a few unfortunate collisions :Ctwitcy:

For promoting bocking its an ace place. Many of us have or do do other sports. So logical that other peeps that do other sports may be inclined to another ( our) new sport.

To some up

Price is realistic
We would want a bock friendly area
Look at the options and choose 2 maybe 3 other sports to try in advance (If that is an option) check out if they can b booked.
Think about Brighton as a wider venue

well das my initial take

well i'm probably in just cause it's something to do before uni starts again, is there actually going to be any organised bocking? (like trip being there and doing a mini show etc), or just a bunch of us wandering around doing our own thing on bocks?

It has been confirmed that Cribs, White Lies, British Sea Power and Natty will be playing, and other headliners will be announced soon.

Details of all the sports you can have a go and are available at: http://www.whiteair.co.uk/section/festivals/have_a_go
If you have already bought your ticket, you can also book in to have a go at the sports you want to try, as there are limited spaces for some of the sports!

Tickets are on sale from: http://www.whiteair.co.uk/section/tickets/tickets
They will also hopefully also be available from HMV soon.

The earlybird student price of £55 is limited and this price will increase, so buy your tickets soon!!

There will be bockers there with their stilts as part of the event to perform/demonstrate and to let people have a go on their stilts. Apart from that I think most people will want to go to try the other extreme sports on offer and enjoy the two nights of live music.

Has anyone bought tickets yet?

Last year they charged you to try each of the sports, ontop of the ticket price... except for bocking, which was free!!!
No idea about this year though

It's just been announced that DOVES will headline White Air in September joining Biffy Clyro, The Cribs, White Lies, British Sea Power, Natty and The Boxer Rebellion on the live stage. Full line-up to be announced soon.

There is also ONLY 6 DAYS LEFT to get your reduced price Early Bird tickets before the prices go up. Tickets are available from TicketMaster, HMV.com and for those of you in Brighton The Dome box office, Komedia, Resident Records, Rounder, Concorde 2 and Brighton Visitor Centre.

Once you've booked your ticket you can go to the 'Have a Go' section of the White Air website and book yourself a taster session or two trying the sport(s) you've always wanted to, for free* (*one or two charge a small fee), there's nearly 40 to choose from  but book soon before they get booked up.

Dunno who the bockers will be this year, but last years lot told me  id be an 'embarresment' if I went along. Now, OK, they were probably quite correct in there assumptions. But hey could have just pretended they didnt know me...peeps do that all the time , Im use to it and understand and dont take offence. But I was  very upset at the time. Still am actually.

Bocking will also be free here   http://www.projumpforum.co.uk/index.php#23

But dunno about the other stuff, yet .

What I want to know is who is in the display team this year, as all of last year's people are off elsewhere.

Zeb, Brucie, Joe and Chris are in Germany, Tok's got his shoulder problems, and Becky has told me she isn't going and neither is Trip!
Are the 101 guys going, Naz?
