Waves
« on: September 24, 2008, 11:41:45 PM »
I have been looking at buying these for some time, I am pretty much aware that when you start off it takes a couple of hours to get any good at walking and then a day or three to get to running.

I guess I should ask do you guys think its worth buying a set?

I weigh 12 stones, 6 foot tall...

Which kind do you guys recommend for the most effective springing height.

Thats probably true I guess the real question is if I do shell out 150 quid for gear how do I make sure I get the most bounce for my cash? based on my weight, I know I read about 20 kg's above my weight. Is that right?

Sounds like you've check the forum out and know the basics .  :)
Some people pick it up quicker then others but the longer you practice the better you'll get.
20Kg is a good idea but you'll find it hard to start bouncing but once you've started you'll be glad of the extra power.
£150 may sound a lot but most people use them more than just at weekends and last well over a year so it works out at lease than £2.50 a week which we will all say is well worth it

In my experience learning to walk can range from 1 or 2 minutes upto about 1/2 an hour.

At 12 stone aka 76.2kg you should be looking at M100 springs in my opinion, these may take you a bit longer to get the technique right to get good bouncing but when you do you will be able to get better height than if you had gone with a weaker spring.

Also where abouts are you from, there may be people local to you
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room!

Well how about that...

I dunno, though I mean I am not a big fan of falling over, let alone from such a height. Although look like an ass load of fun.

My problem is I am reckless...  :Dark_Knight:

Although I have the cash to by them outright...

get involved and put a real big grin on your face

I am just over 12 stone and have 90kg springs which seems to work. Though I do agree that going 20k over your weight works. You will quickly learn the technique then be glad of the extra resistance. Also have a feeling that you will not break springs quite as easily so get longer use for your£

The Lincoln meet on 11th is indoors with mats so falling should not hurt.

If you wear the right kit and fall properly falling over does not hurt. i only have difficulty with getting up ! ;D

In my expereince all people on bocks are very supportive of each other and somewhat mad. Including the special one
Grow old disgracefully
