Gixer / Spud - Sport Relief Mile - (NORWICH)
« on: February 04, 2008, 12:31:14 PM »
http://www2.sportrelief.com/norwich-mile

I am so up for doing this on Bocks!!!  I'd do it in armour but I can't run in it and I will also overheat big time :D

If anyone is up for it then click the link on the website to enter and we can discuss details here, whether we're all going to wear daft outfits or not?

Also for a good cause too   And we could carry leaflets for anyone who asks about us/where to buy stilts etc, will be good PR.....

I've just created an entry and a "fundraising page", I think I can "add others" too so anyone who is up for it, register interest here and I'll find out about adding you.  I've only said I'd do 1 mile cos not sure about anymore!  There are options to go further if you wish.  It's £5 to enter each.

One miles easy is do that as a warm up !
As for dressing up I could dress up as .... Batman LOL
The £5 only real covers costs :/
If your not getting sponsored you should at least add another £5  :)
With us Bocking about would add something to the day  :)

I emailed them to ask, I emphasised we'd be WALKING on them and not jumping around madly (honest) :D

How do you know we'll be allowed?  If we're not then I'm just gonna walk it in armour but I may BOIL, and if it rains I'll have to not wear it in case my weathering runs  :-[ :-[ :-[

I emailed asked and got a reply. And this is what they said. I put this on the noriwch mile thread too.

We are happy for you to complete your Mile on stilts however we would ask that you exercise reasonable caution to ensure the safety of all participants. Please move to the back of the wave that you are starting in so that other Milers can move off and disperse first.

Scouts arent allowed anywhere - only at a few locations, and they can only be registered by me and the other guy organising the Scout bockers mile! :)

Dont worry guys, Im giving all you lovely sports relief mile running bockers (who are about to punish themselves with sore legs and backs :nana: ) a separate section in the major events board, then Im going to attempt to make each event clear to avoid the confusion!!

But in the process of doing that I hope you forgive me if I get confused myself

Here is my sponsor page I created:

http://www.mysportrelief.com/ea_bockers

I've created a "team" within my page, I called it "Bock-tastic"  yeah crap I know but couldn't think of anything else cos it's late  ;D ;D ;D so if you've already created your own individual sponsor pages, you can search for and join this team by using my name Rachel Smith, or the team name Bock-tastic - then you just add yourself I think.

I've got £83 in sponsorship so far

Yeah you can get the 80s toy proton packs for about £30 on eBay, and my movie accurate nomex flight suit should be here soon, gettin ghte SMITH name patch sorted too but still need to get the "no ghost" patches sorted, but plenty of time yet.  Certainly not wearing my proper replica proton pack as it's not finished yet and it would smash to pieces if I fell over with it on me, it weighs a ton too so not ideal ;D  Would be great if I could carry a smoking Ghost Trap too but I've not got one .......yet
