Flame Springs
« on: December 14, 2007, 04:52:40 PM »
Hey,

Just got a pair of Pro-jumps and i need to tape the springs. I know a few layers of electricians tape will do it, but i also wanted to customise them so that they have a picture of a flame running up the spring.

I went to a car graphics shop to see if they could do anything but the stuff they use wouldn't stick properly.

Any ideas anyone???

Thanks

Shadon

Not so sure what spray would work on tape but you can use tape to do the design on and then just stick it on

I love the design on steve76's springs and he used tape too

Jason's uses a different technique like a sleeve which he can put on and off and can customise

Does Jason have a specific photo/thread regarding his Graphic type Sleeves?
I'd rather look it up before sending a pesky PM :P

I'm getting together some templates for the Slippies (Thanks for the silly name Naz I couldn't have done better myself  ;))

I need to make them a bit adjustable as different people wrap their springs to different widths, the overlap on the velcro can give about 1/2" adjustment but needs to be right

Don't know how much they would cost to make the first two sets took ages but with the templates and a plan it should get a lot shorter

As for the Flame design I did try to do this on the first set but I couldn't find a flame design that looked any good on the springs they are to narrow
So if any of you budding artists know of or can draw a good Flame design (I would like a set too) black going into red ,yellow and white would be good then the white would be at the top and stay clean

The Banned Bockers design was printed on a fairly thin material and I don't think they will last long but the Pro-jump ones were on a good cotton twill and should last a fair while

I have a few days off this week so I should be able to get to the shop that i bought the good stuff from and see if they have any other colours (like black) and if there is enough interest I'll work out a price

I am, as we speak, researching and producing decals designs for PowerBock springs, I am investigating ways of producing them in personal packs that people can buy. I will keep you all posted! All designs shall be my own work and I can give you my word none will be taken from other artists without their permission (I have personal experience of people making a LOT of money from one of my peices of art). Its looking promising so watch this space!!!
