this sounds really odd --but bare with me. Wouldnt it be fab to get lost in Paris ---picture it

A long snaking line of bockers  and Carma at the head asking a very bemused gendarme 'can you tell me the way to the Place de la Concord?'

Well tickled me.

Oh and should any1 caught doing a clouseau impersonation  or an 'OOOO Rene' be reported to mods? ;D

Just to inform everyone... You are possibly looking at a couple of hundred quid. So might need a little saving up for.

I have to ask  a bit more  why cant under 18's come along? I see kids in trolleys next to bt of wine everytime im in tesco

Well 1) its a Bocking Booze Cruise.

and 2) I want this to be a holiday for the adult Bockers... With intentions of going to Moulin Rouge and lots of drinking involved... Sorry, but these are not under 18 activitys. And I do not want to be responcible for them.

You do realise Moulin Rouge is a ridiculously over priced tourist hell hole..... there are loads of other places you could go to that dont cost the earth for a coke.

I think its about £75 for tickets and i'm sure you will find discounts online esp for group bookings, France is generally expensive anyway so and its one of them things that's down to the individual whether they think it's worth it or not.   ;)

re under 18's  1st  is it not illegal to decriminate on grounds of age?

I think all members of this forum are equal. I dont think any meet should be set up ( please feel free to disagree) that explicitly excludes others ( id object to a woman only or christain only meet). Or indeed implicitly  buy having conditions or hurdles built in that make it difficult for some groups to take part ( excepting of cause that some things happen in day time in term time).

I say any meet that is set up that is designed to exclude selected members  should not be carried here. The individuals should arrange off forum.

Buying Booze involves going into a shop and purchasing it. Only today I saw a mother with an infant sitting in a shopping trolley, she didnt have problems putting a couple of bottles of wine into the other end.

Could there not be options 4 the evening.  I for 1 if i had energy  would be up 4 some nite bocking at monmartre- the steps at sacre coeur  need to be owned. Now thats suitable for kids.  If  you said  under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult at ratio of 1xA - 2xU18   Where is your responsiblity?

Oh  do alot more research on hotels,  then call it £100 excluding food drink and insidentals --might be a better selling point  id suggest

Any plans for the sunday?  Rouen  looks promising

(As i'm only 16 at the moment, my comments probably don't count for much ;))
Bbmthbloke, I disagree, I don't think an event based on age is at all the same as a christian/womens meet
This age limit is justified for some (very good) reasons,
Although there may be people that do (Guilty) drinking alcohol is illegal for under 18s, and places like the moulin rouge are'nt deemed 'sutable' for us lot (As much of us may disagree :P )
I think minors would just slow down the event, and having people assigned/having responsability for looking after people? Not fun :P
I also think that forums would really help, and ease the problems of setting something like this up, and that having to set an event up outside the forums would create problems.

Bearing in mind, these are thoughts off the top of my head, so feel free to complain ::)

k  fair comment. Tho i find juniors  speed up events. As i said the evening  could be full of options. I think the U18s would have to get willing consent. Of the U18s I think would be up for this I dont think they would have a prob getting a suitable adult ---Indeed Id love to see Athoul having to hold Sprogs hand as he bocks across te champs eleaise ( or simila spillin) would be a high lite

And I think your comment carries as much wait as any other members.

Anyone stayed or know any1 who has stayed in an uber budget hotel anywhere on the left bank betwen the Latin quarter and the Eiffel Tower ( im thinking french version of travel lodge -- you know 4 or more jammed in a room for £5-60 a nite)?

We welcome everyones comment's even if you're still a baby  ;D

I understand Bbmthbloke's view on this as he doesnt like anyone to feel excluded or rules of that nature but on this kind of meet I would have to say Jevans post makes valid points.

I think if your intention of the meet is to have a booze up, then having younger members coming along even with their parents may make them feel left out anyway (The parents will probably enjoy it more - not saying that's a bad thing mind  :D) Also if Moulin Rouge is an option on the day then again the younger members would be left out so it's just one of them things that's more for the adult bockers.

If the intention is just a weekend bocking trip to France then thats a totally different thing and I'm sure all would be invited along!

Just read your last post Q as I was hitting sent I got the warning sign hehe

I think the only members that may be feeling left out really would be the ones just nearly 18, ppl like Rich who would enjoy it & is responsible enough as well.

I think the hotel sounds cheap and travel lodge's (and equivilent) do the job well esp if booked well in advance.

<Has the mental image of the entire bocking community squashed into a hotel room> "I call the bed!"
Sadly, it seems the nearly 18-ers get the harsh end of the stick :(
