Title: Possible spring change?
Post by: petesmith999 on November 23, 2011, 01:43:42 PM
Hey everybody, after a while off I got back into this, but now winter is coming its time to look at mods and updates. My pro-jumps are M110's, as my weight was always between 95-100kg, yeah I know, fatty, anyway things were going well until I started a low carb diet with lots of running and bocking. My problem now is that I have lost 10kg meaning I can not get the springs to react so well.Still losing too. Should I fit lower rated springs or get new stilts, if so can I get springs from pro jump.uk. Cant see them on the website spares section.
I am back in uk in December, and was thinking of getting calf cuffs too.....so maybe new stilts is the way to go....as a matter of cost.
Whats reckon?

Hi Pete

First yes PJ do replacement springs just call them or contact Naz (Webmaster on here)

You will probably find that as you get better and fitter on the bocks you will need the higher weight to get the performance you need

So my advice would be to buy another set at a lower weight to use for now (that way you will get the cuffs with the new set)

It will probably work out a bit dearer than buying springs and cuffs but you will then have a spare set of stilts to lend to mates to get them into the sport

Also when you get a break/failure you will be able to continue bocking this was bought home to me on saturday as I would have missed a really good day bocking if I hadn't had a spare set

By the way whats your secret to weight loss I have been trying for years and never loose any  :Claugh:

Yeah man congrats on losing the 10kg! Wow.

I agree with Jason that it makes more financial sense to buy a new set but there is a little problem. You mention M110 which suggests these are the old M Series and not the Exo model (CZ series) so if you did buy a new pair, the old paid wont be able to act as spare parts.

Saying that, I think I have some 2nd hand M100 springs (rated 99kg on the spring) if you're interested let me know and I will check.

Hi Jason, the secret to weight lost is really simple, change what you eat and drink, cut carbohydrate intake down to under 20g a day zero if you can. Keep calories in lower than calories burnt.
No bread, pasta, rice, biscuits, sweets, cakes, cereals, fizzy drink or beer. Also cut out fruit and juice. Can eat lots of salad, fish chicken and meat. Eggs and bacon ok. Drink lots of water. Have spirits if you need some booze.
Keep bocking, good exercise to help things go.. The first week is the hardest but after 2 weeks all the cravings for the junk food go. Weight loss is really quick. You can still eat burgers just leave the bread.
Just google low carb, high protein diet.

No reall a bock related comment but you did ask. good luck
Pete

Nice one Pete

I did manage to loose a lot a while back (atkins diet) which is almost the same as your suggested one

But my trouble is a weak will and an adiction to food  :Claugh:

Also work gets in the way all the time (at least thats my excuse  )

But I will try again
