After reviewing a pair of Powerstrider Olympics a month before they were released state side. I'm wondering, what's been corrected and addressed?

My biggest concerns were this;

hardware quality, the nuts and bolts stripped easily.

The calf cuff clamp didn't hold strong enough to keep cuffs from twisting.

My feet slide at the heel.

No spring cover.

Now from the picture of the exo model it looks like the clamp assembly is different. But in the exo pros they look the same as the olympics. With that weak hand tightening system.

I'm really hoping you guys fixed all the issues that the olympics had as I actually liked the design better than the standard stilt design. I got like half a foot more air. I couldn't bottom nearly as easily, and they were so light.

Now for anyone buying these. They mean it by not going 10kg over. I use poweriser 90120s and can bottom those things brand new. But on my demo pair of the olympics I had to try to get to the bottom of 70kg springs.

@ DC Yep the knee bar / cuffs are the same as the old model so shouldn't be a problem.
Pre-Order via pm only please!

@ XDvandalDJ Thanks for your reply - here are a list of some of the changes:

All nuts and bolts replaced with better quality ones on both models, this was one of the key changes requested by our testers.

The Heel section is curved in and the back heel plate will be at a 90 angle on Alu model, this will reduce sideways movement and make the heel section more comfortable.

Spring protection will be provided on both model similar to the M-Series but thicker.

Pro-Jump  Exo model comes with knee bars and stock bindings which are plain black instead of the orange / black ones

Pro-Jump Exo Pro comes with both the knee bar & Calf Cuffs, the quick release clamp has a better quality lever and thicker bolt which is a massive improvement on earlier models.

Pro-Jump Exo Pro Black bindings will remain same as the Pro-Jump+ model, however the  ladder strap will be less stretchy and a bigger washer is used to ensure that the straps do not rip

The design of the rubber soles have undergone five design changes. The full rubber soles are extremely durable

The heel section "A-Frame" has been made stronger by making the part more solid

The rubber stopper is more securely attached

That sounds fantastic.

Seems like you addressed all the issues I found with them.

If you haven't noticed in the graphic for the Pro's one has calf-cuff one and one doesn't :Claugh:.
I'd love to get these but I'm also wanting to buy a new Laptop and a DSLR, and seeing as I already have Pro-Jumps and don't bock that much anymore I think I'll have to skip on this till later.

I'm wondering if powerstrider had the same quick release system we had on our test model because we've put that baby to hell and back and it was my main worry for some time but not once did we have any problem with it, and that was with several users so the cuffs were adjusted frequently.

Those new stilts look good, I like the fact they have been tested and improved prior to release. Independent testing and genuine feedback is the way to go, and at last you've shown the Chinese the correct way to launch a product into the market place.

I think you'll be getting a couple of stilt manufacturers a bit hot under the collar with these babies. I always new the Chinese stilts would take the lead one day..LOL Dam pleased I got out when I did now  :Cwink: Good luck Naz

XDvandalDJ - If you can pop a picture on we could identify what version you have, I have a feeling it was a very early model.

I don't own these. I was sent a pair to review for a website a month before they launched state side. It was uh, last december?

You can read my original stupid long write up here

http://powerstilts.blogspot.com/2009/11/powerstrider-cz-series-part-1.html

Since then I recommended a member of my local group to purchase a pair. He's had them for half a year or so and a lot of the flaws have come out. Enough so I wouldn't buy a pair myself.

They cuff clamp on his after about a month would never hold his cuffs straight, despite getting them replaced.

But that seems due to the poor bolts. They strip constantly.

yes as I suspected these are the very earliest models, after that the model has seen a lot of changes :)

hey i will be sending you a pm in 10 mins just a fue questions
what is the best spring rating to get as i know in my first year i snapped 2/3 sets of 90 before changing to 70' which have served me well so do i get 70' on these modle
and what is the warranty on the frames and springs
many thanks lynch
Title: Re: Pro-Jump Has Evolved....
Post by: webmaster on October 20, 2010, 11:51:02 PM
Thanks for the interest guys :)

@ lynch - Some questions to ask would be how much do you actually weigh, how long you have had the M70's for and how long before you started bottoming them out if you have? If you were going to upgrade and would have gone for the M80's next I would stick with the M70's. If you found the M70's quite stiff when you first got them, or find them to be just right and you are between 60 - 67 kg I may even suggest dropping down to Exo 60's. I'd recommend having a word with Spud as well as the ones she tested she found to be quite stiff so she will be able to provide you with good advise.

The warranty is the same as the M-Series, 3 months on the spring and 6 months on the frame, more details here http://www.projumpforum.co.uk/index.php?page=warranty
Title: Re: Pro-Jump Has Evolved....
Post by: lynch on October 21, 2010, 12:02:30 AM
many thanks on the warranty :) from the first day i got the 70' i was bottoming them out but getting a good 5 foot height on standing alone jumping and can vault about 6/7 food gates and fences and bottom them out all the time but they still give the same power and have not broken these are the newer projump springs which are a bit squarer than the older modes

but as i wouldnt like to buy the new ones then brake springs like i did with my first fue sets because of me getting the wrong springs and you helping me soo much to get the right set and replacements :)

so do you sugest i order 70' or go heigher and go for 80' or would it be possible to sort out getting a heigh set of 70' so ill be in the middle

many thanks
lynch

ok so I'm about 98kg most who know me know i'm hard on my stilts, do you think as i'm upper limit of 100's would i be better off with 110's? what the heaviest spring weight with the new ones?

was using s-rex 90-120s was bottoming them out fairly early on i've now warn them out, tried my original m100(99), and the springs weren't to bad but as the bushing an frames were well shot, but i have broken 110 & 120 in the passed
Title: Re: Pro-Jump Has Evolved....

I would probably advise going for the 100kg model as that's meant for users between 100 - 109kg.

If you are near Jason, it may be an idea to join their next meet as try out his I think he has the upper limit ones and it will give you a good idea.

Title: Re: Pro-Jump Has Evolved....
Post by: Jason on October 22, 2010, 08:48:20 PM
Arrr sorry to say this mate but I have a very large costume to get up to london on the halloween bock and wouldn't be able to bring the prototypes along

If you see the costume you will understand why it is difficult to carry anything else

Any other meet I would be wearing them so you could try but the dragon costume was built on the old stilts and would be a nightmare to fit to the new ones in a short time

But any other sunday we can make it a home meet or maybe I can talk Clive into a southend meet soon (bit cold but that never stopped us before  :Claugh:)

I'll let you have a look at mine Greg

Might even make a few conversion kits if there is enough interest but they would be expensive due to time spent

May be poss to make a conversion kit to fit the new springs to Skips cheeper though and even a whole set of EXO's would be cheeper than a set of skip springs

Ok so we gave the stilts a going through today, however we have found a few issues :S just wondering if anyone else has found this...
Naz said not to go 10KG above the weight, however we found that you are better of to as it is so easy to compress them if they are your weight class :S
also the foot plate, the back does really hold your feet that well, and they can sometimes slip. Did anyone else find this?

The first time I went on my foot slipped to the side straight away, this then causes the stilt to feel like its bowing and puts you ompletely off balance, therefore I padded out the edges to stop it slipping (simply I taped some folded card to the bits that stick out at the edges)
Title: Re: Pro-Jump Has Evolved....
Post by: Locky on November 06, 2010, 11:36:25 PM
The foot sliding was an issue during testing, but the footplate was changed to improve this. Personally I never experienced it so I wonder if it's down to type of footwear used.

Cheap mod if its a problem is some skateboard tape on the footplate :)

DC, What is your current weight and spring weight on normal stilts? I'd say the spring weight on these is pretty accurate. But, if for example, you weigh 70kg and currently use 90's then I guess 80's would be the right spring.

squeeker did you bottom out?

I find even when bottoming out on the pro/silver model due to the lightness I can control the power of my bounce much better.

I think on the whole, the weight game is pretty spot on but also use some common sense.
Jono used to use S rex 7 leagues designed for 120kg and he weighs under 70kg so putting him on 70kg pj's would not be sensible.
Title: Re: Pro-Jump Has Evolved....
Post by: Squeeker on November 06, 2010, 11:57:59 PM
No I didn't bottom out, and I have always had a soft technique so I went for 70's, In my opinion their fine, but I cant see how much I compress by, also, DC likes to make people feel like they hav e done the wrong thing :L

DC with respect, Squeeker is the only person who can say if he was bottoming out. Even if he was close, until you feel it then it doesnt really matter.
I'm not saying 80's would be a bad choice for him but dont say he was bottoming out when he says he wasnt.

I hate it that everyone seems so concerned about bottoming out. Technique and power is whats important in bocking...and in that order.

as far as the bottoming out i agree with locky with my projumps v6 70's when i get power i bottom out alot but it works because of my tech and that i snap stronger springs i would stick with 70 mate i have just bought a new set of exo but i have yet to go on them as friday it was raining and i was to tired after work today but i will be on them tomorrow so i will let you know how i get on but i think 70 should be fine :)

It may actually turn out that 80's are the spring for you squeeker. It depends what the equivalent of a poweriser spring is but I would guestimate it being more than a new PJ 70 and less than a 90. That's not to say that you will be fine on the 70's. I vary in my spring preference. I often find that I actually trick better on the softer ones because I am having to put less effort into the jumps.

BACK to UK  :Cradar:

but I found out that my stilts r totally wobbly (plate going uncontrollably left and right) :Cchatterbox:- so i might as well just get new ones :Claugh:

had M80 but cud almost from the start bottom them out - (weighing 70kgs) shud I therefore better take 90's??? :Cwideeyed:

and is that the same price like on ghostbikes??? 209 quid for pro's - and can I still get a pair of old ones M110 for a friend back home in Austria??? -> yeah - i introduced bocking to some parts of austria  :Claugh:

wud be nice of any help/replies

If you could bottom the 80's from new you will probably be better with 90's but do check the weight on your old ones

It's on the base of the springs and could vary from 80 up to 89
If it is at the high end just order 90's but if it is 80 or just above ask for lower end 90's of high 80's

The reason I say this is that you could find yourself going from 80 to 99 which is 19kg more and as the Exo's are a better match to peoples weight being a bit stiffer for an equal weight
