A SPECTACULAR meet is being held in France later this year! I can't find the words to describe how brilliant this is... tho It's probably the next best thing to Capital Bocking on offer right now.

After watching this, Only took me 5 seconds to make my mind up. Is it worth it the trip over? Answer: hell yeah!

This looks pretty awesome. I'd encourage any that can attend, do so. At least I know that Henry Holloway went to the last French Competition and said it was a blast. I'm pretty sure it's what inspired him to hold SABO 2010 in Las Vegas.
I saw videos from the one last year and it looked pretty awesome. I know if I had the money I'd get my small group and fly over. These events are just getting better and better.

we (a couple of belgians) had a good time with the people from hoff riser in prague yesterday and promised we would attend their event!

Hmm I have a couple of rather simple questions.
What exactly is it? What is the plan, where will it take place exactly.
Would be nice if the teaser videos actually teased the event. I would kinda like to have some real expectation of the event before driving all that way. The last thing I wanna do is drive 15 hours and find we're all at a poorly thought out location with no real plans and it turns a bit crappy.
I'm not suggesting that's what HoffRiser are going to do but I would really like to know some real details before driving a full day.

Just so your all clear - I'm not involved with hosting this event. The only reason I posted it on PJ was to share information on what's happening outside the UK.

There a treasure hunt in the town centre,,, pretty sure you don't need be a bocking pro to take part in that :)

DC had quick a look the price of flights and train fares for September.
A flight over will cost a 'whopping' £250, maybe it's the quickest route but not the cheapest ouch!

Train prices look a lot less scary and possibly less troublesome, when it comes to transporting stilts and luggage.
The train price varies with the time of day you want to travel - cheapest prices start from £115 (including train fares from Paris to Sarrebourg)

Driving isn't a bad idea. It's only 4/5 hours driving after calais. If you use tesco clubcard points to get the channel tunnel, it works out pretty well for 3 or more people. I just drove back from the south of France, thats 13 hours, so nothing compared to this event. :) I don't think i can go due to Uni, but anyone going have fun! :)

Hi everybody, I'm Mikaël, i belong to Hoff riser and we organize the french contest. i want to thank you to have already posted these informations, good job!
If you have some questions, don't hesitate any second to contact me, i will do my best to help you.
I saw that somebody asked where exactly sarrebourg is: it's in the east part, 70km from Germany. i's located between strasbourg and Nancy, two major french cities.
we hope to see you there of course, don't hesitate to share your cars, to contact fly companies for group tickets or stuffs like this!

I emailed the event organisers to enquire how many nights they can accommodate people for.
They said it okay to stay three nights (Friday till Sunday). But I will have to confirm numbers, so they can make the necessary arrangements. :CGEEK:

1.) you can bring a tent and camp-out for 35 euros
or
2.) for an extra 5 euros you can stay in a nice warm comfortable hotel.
Choice is yours.

Everyone should be Okay to stay from the Friday evening (24th) until Monday morning (27th) for the prices stated in my earlier message. This will be confirm for definite on the 15th August, when all accommodation arrangements have been finalised by the hosts of the French bocking contest.

just a reminder everyone that's attending this event. You need to complete and send the registration form before the 1st September and accommodation costs can be paid on arrival.

for anyone looking to travel from london this is how it Bassically works out
84 pounds return on eurostar then 32 euros to get to sarrebourg the train journey takes 4 hours from paris to sarrebourg so looks like we need to get a early eurostar if we get the early ones it also reduces the price down to 64 pounds.
