Title: Questions from a beginner..........
Post by: Magnum PI on August 15, 2009, 11:19:11 AM
Hello all,

I have recently bought my first pair of Pro- Jumps M100, And having great fun with them, But there are a few things i want to find out. So please forgive me if these things have already been discussed,

1. I have the upgraded bindings with the bocks, but have noticed that on the originals there is a small plastic sleve with teeth on the end through which the screw goes the plastic sleve then goes though the hole in the bindings, However the upgraded bindings the hole is only big enough for the screw and not the sleve should i cut a bigger hole or do somthing else ?

2. I have wr***ed the spring with eletrical tape is this a good way of protecting the springs or do i need to do somthing else ?

3. Forgive my ignorance but is there a left and a right bock? there dosent seem to be a way to tell.

4. I have also fitted the calf cuffs, But i was wondering how far apart the metal bars on either side have to be (Where the bolts go through the velcro)

I thinks thats about it, Im sure iv'e forgot to ask somthing though.

Anyway thanks in advance and for your time.  :Ctwitcy:

1) Never heard of that problem before, I would assume it will be fine without the sleeve as the Evo-2 Bindings are pretty sturdy.
2) I'd advise something thicker, like hockey tape.
3) For L&R, The ratchet sections of your bindings go on the outside of your feet.
4) As wide as your legs are, at an angle where they feel comfortable and secure. Just keep fiddling with them :)

Don't use the plastic sleeves, but its often good to put a washer there instead to stop the screwhead digging into the strap and possibly splitting it.

1. personally i decided to use the sleve and used a high speed drill and a VERY sharp drill bit... otherwise you just end up tearing the plastic instead of cutting it...
how ever as was mentioned... you dont have to use the sleve
2. i have attacked an old bike tire and cable tied it to my spring... provides a hell of a lot more protection.. tho at the cost of weight...
3. i always have the bindings on the outside so they cannot catch each other.. but its personal opinion really
4. no freaking idea... i just have kept tweaking them till they feel right/comfortable

Peace out
